I am recently married. 5 months and i am 3 months pregnant. It came as a shock to me as i’d wanted us to first cement and enjoy our marriage as a couple but… oh well.. Surprise!! I am coming to terms with it and i do have mixed feelings about the baby BUT i do know that i want this baby. My problem is that i feel that my husband’s life hasn’t changed while mine dictates that i stay at home as i’ve been on bed rest – doc orders. I can go out over the weekend so long as i don’t walk long distances. I cherish our outings but he seems preoccupied and restless to be elsewhere… like having a drink with his mates. He makes up business meeting excuses over the weekend every now and again and comes in staggering at 3am. I feel neglected, needy and angry all the time as he lies to spend time with his boys and it feels like he prefers their company over mine.

The recession has affected our finances as well as our sex life. He avoids it and i’ve raised it numerous times. Now i just feel sex starved and unattractive though he reassures me that it isn’t me. He asks me to be patient with him as he has a lot on his mind that’s work related.

I moved to a foreign country to be with him and make our marriage work but it feels like i moved to have a house for company. Am i being too needy, insensitive or is there something that i can say to make him understand how i feel coz right now he just doesn’t get it.

As i write, he is at another business meeting. Help!
